Brian moved to Cleveland from Detroit, Michigan in 2019. He is the current Assistant Volleyball Coach at Notre Dame College (DII) in Euclid, and he helped volunteer coach with Varsity at Nordonia High School this past fall where they clinched their Division title. He has been coaching for 7 years, and has spent multiple seasons coaching volleyball at the collegiate, high school, and club level. He enjoys helping players grow a lifelong passion for the sport, and has several former club players currently on college rosters. He learned to play the game on the Men’s Club Volleyball team at Grand Valley State University, playing as a setter/hitter/libero over 5 years. He still actively plays volleyball in local tournaments. As an offensively-minded coach, he enjoys training setters and hitters, and offers private lessons to AVC athletes.
He is in his second year with AVC, and will be coaching 16-White and 17-Blue in 2021. In his first year with AVC, he led his 15-White team to three Top-4 tournament finishes, including winning 15 Premier at Bluegrass right before the COVID shutdown. He is excited to get a second chance with that same team this winter to see what what they can accomplish.
One of Brian’s favorite quotes that reflects his coaching philosophy is “I never lose…I either win, or I learn.”
