Declan Pierce brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the program. A former Division I libero at Penn State University (2016–2020), he was part of the 2017 EIVA Conference Championship team and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2019.
After college, Declan began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach at D’Youville University, helping transition the men’s volleyball program from Division III to Division II (2020–2022). He then served as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Baldwin Wallace University from 2022 to 2024 while earning his MBA in Strategic Marketing.
With a background in biomechanics and kinesiology, Declan applies a technical, science-based approach to skill development, helping athletes refine their mechanics for maximum efficiency and performance. He remains active in the game, competing in semi-professional volleyball while continuing to develop the next generation of athletes.
This is Declan’s first year coaching at AVC, and he is excited to bring his experience and passion for the game to the club.
