Scott joined the AVC coaching staff during the 2024-25 season. He picked up volleyball in college at John Carroll University, and he continued to play in some adult leagues after college, including playing high-level beach. Scott was a volleyball coach at Archbishop Hoban from 2008-2011, where coached both boy’s and girl’s teams, with his main focus on the boys’ volleyball team. He also helped with Volleyfreak Club in Akron, and he co-founded and helped run a defunct adult tournament series called The Volley Project.
Scott has a passion for volleyball, he even met his wife, Karla Everhart Wood, while playing. Karla played collegiately at Youngstown State as a setter. They have 4 children: Skylar (9), Everly (6), Kaysen (3), and Layken (1). He has dreams that one day his kids will be Olympic Gold Medalists for Team USA in Beach and Indoor!
